Analysis of Draft of My Music Magazine NRM

Draft of Music Magazine NRM!

This is the draft copy of my music magazine NRM. I planned it out on plain A4 paper. I decided to use the music magazines Kerrang! and NME as my templates for the magazine, however, I have added a twist and not copied there designs and used the magazines as templates.

Masthead

As you can see the masthead is NRM (New Rock Music). I tried to think up a name which was going to be unique and different. I used the idea of an acromyn where each letter stands for something, in this case N=New R=Rock M=Music, however, i did not make it the same as the NME magazine. The name also represents what the music is about which is mainly rock with inide mixed in. The name is different to the other music magazines out there today.

The Language

Again the name represents the genre of magazine which is Rock music. i am planning for the masthead, NRM, to be inc olours which will catch the readers eye, and make the reader to want to know. On the front cover i will ensure that the images I take are very much like the images seen on the front of rock and indie magazines such as Kerrang! and NME, where dark colours are used, but i am also going to base my layout of the magazine on these magazines, I am going to be thinking baout how my image may tzake up the whole of the front cover or will take up part of the front cover, with other pictures on the front. I am also going to thinking bsaou tth eactual pictures such as how the people int he picture are to pose, what make-up and clothes they wear and the location i take th epicture in.

The sort of font I am going to be using for the masthead, NRM, is going to bright and colourfu, so the readers eye is caught by the desing of the masthead. The other font such as "SWEET and Sour" is going to also be in bright colours because again this is one of the mains tioories i want to stand out, so i will us ebright, large font to catch the readers eye, and draw them in to want to know, the images have to do exactly the same. The other wrinting such as "PLUS" is going to be in bold white writing on a dark background to emphasize what else can be found in the magazine. But the biggest font is going to have to be the Masthead as this is important to representing the magazine. The other font such as the other bands which are in the magazine, and the competition i am gong to be adverttising is going to be in a smaller white font, btu will stand out from the dark background.

Institution

I am going to be producing the rock magazineThe magazine is going to be based on genre of rock music and allow the reader to know about the latest bands, the latest tours, the latest news from the rock world and competitions which ar eon fofer.

Ideology

The idea behind the magazine is to inform the audience about the rock music world and keep them up to date about what ios going on, and the other aim is to entertain the audience. I am going to be basing the magazine on bands and how they dress, how they sing and what thertheir personality is like. But the main aim is to show that rock music is to entertain and to get a certain emssage across depending on what the song is about. The images i am going to take are going to be representing the rock world and to try and entertain the audience.

Audience

The audience I am going to be aiming the music magazine NRM at is the audeince aged 15-25, and weho are into the music genres of rock and indie. But also it can be read anyone who wants to be informed about the rock and indie music world. The magazine will eb for both genders, so there will be a mixture of all sorts of the rock and inide music world which both genders will have an interest in.

Representation

The magazine si going to be representing rthe audience aged 15-25 year old, and anyoen who is the geres of rock and indie music. My pictures are going to represent the rock and indie world, and will be representing how people are who like rock and indie music.
